Unmanned & remote operations

Lower Mobilization, Fuel and Operational Cost. Faster Deliverables Meeting IHO/IMCA Standards.

We are moving towards unmanned surface vessels and remote command and control, cutting exposure, emissions and cost while keeping survey-grade quality. The first over-the-horizon USV with a full geophysical payload in Malaysia.

A survey vessel with nobody aboard.

Pre-fitted at base with fit-for-purpose payloads, autonomy (with remote monitoring) and fully containerized; means quick, low-cost mobilisation across the region and real-time reporting to shore.

Offshore work, watched from KLCC.

The ROC occupies a dedicated section of our KLCC headquarters. It was built with the latest cybersecurity in mind, and around the comfort and convenience of the specialists working behind the screens.

22 June 2025

First full satellite-comms proof-of-concept

A USV carrying a full geophysical system spread achieved over 63km return range, over the horizon, on its maiden proof-of-concept, in collaboration with the Malaysian Maritime Department.

Level 4 autonomy, Port Klang

31km through Malaysia's busiest waterway

The L25C sailed over 31km via the congested waters of Port Klang to its maiden site under Level 4 autonomy with pilot oversight and satellite comms, at roughly 9km/h, for a 91% MGO reduction against a conventional anchor-handling tug.

24 June 2025

Demonstrated to 60+ government and industry specialists

Invite-only demonstration witnessed by over 60 specialists from the Maritime Department, Royal Malaysian Navy, Petronas Carigali, Shell Exploration & Production and contractors including Fugro and SapuraEnergy, acknowledging the first successful system of its kind in South East Asia.

Why it matters

Safer, greener, and cheaper to mobilise.

Displacing costly manned vessel spreads with an over-the-horizon USV removes personnel from the hazard, cuts emissions sharply, and lets us mobilise quickly and at lower cost across the region, while remote QC keeps the data to IHO Special Order standard. The result is the same survey-grade certainty, with far less exposure.
